Contest Duration:

1st Feb 2017 to 31st March 2017


  • The contest is open to only Indian nationals
  • There are  no restrictions on age, gender, or experience (both professional and amateur photographers may enter)
    • Entrants under the age of 18 years require the contest of a parent or a guardian. By entering the contest, it is assumed that entrants below the age of 18 years have the needed permission. SIGMA India can request the proof of permission from such entrants
    • SIGMA employees, partners, affiliates, subsidiaries, distributors and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter the contest

Terms & Conditions:

  • The photographs must be shot with DSLR cameras only. There are no restrictions regarding the brand of the camera / lens used
  • All the submissions must be shot by the contestant only, and the photographer should hold the all copyright for the same
  • EXIF Details must be shared with ALL the images for the submissions to be considered
  • Submissions after midnight of 31st March 2017 will not be accepted
  • Only Human Portrait images will be accepted. The images can be close-ups or wide but should have a human face visible clearly.
  • Entrants can submit both older and fresh images. However, each image must be uploaded to any of the above mentioned platforms with the hashtag #SIGMA100Strangers
    • Only photographs shared from or after 1st Feb 2017 will be considered for the contest
    • Hash-tagging to pre-existing, pre-published images cannot be considered
  • We cannot accept works that have been submitted to other contests or competitions that are still being judged
  • Works that infringe upon third-party rights (copyrights, trademark rights, portrait rights, etc.) may not be submitted. Applicants are required to obtain prior permission from rights owners to enter photographic works that contain copyrighted or other protected materials (works of art, films, photos, music, etc.) owned by others. SIGMA or its affiliates will not be liable for any violations and the responsibility lies solely with the photographer
  • The photographs can be edited as required
  • There is no restriction on the number of elements or items that make up a photographic work. There are restrictions, however, on the file size and format of digital entries (still images and videos / movies) submitted online
  • We do not accept submissions of works on DVD, Blu-ray, or other media
  • The contestant must be residing in India at the time of the of the final judgement to receive the SIGMA DP2 Quattro as the prize

Other Guidelines:

  • Both colour and monochrome images will be accepted
  • Contestants will retain the rights to their photographs. However, contestants grant SIGMA India , Inc. and its agency, unlimited rights, usage of the submitted images, the winner’s name, and likeness in any advertising/promotion
  • Prizes and rewards cannot be exchanged, transferred or redeemed for
  • Entries MUST include all information below
    • All exhibits must have a title
    • All exhibits must have a description (a brief statement describing your image collection)
    • All images must contain a reference to the lens & camera details used in the image description, with basic EXIF details
    • While a story is not required for each image, it would help with additional points
  • Minimum number of photographs to be submitted: 50
    • While it is not mandatory to submit all 100 photographs, photographers with higher number of submissions will be given first priority during judging


  • The details of the final winner will be announced Facebook on 10th April 2017
  • The decision of the judges will be final and binding


  • The photographer is responsible for taking all steps necessary to protect the rights of person (s) in their images, including but not limited to obtaining their permission
  • The photographer is responsible for the resolution of any legal issues arising from their works and agree to pay any costs thereby incurred
  • SIGMA reserves the right to not accept entries that depict brand logos or other intellectual property, whether on signs or posters or in other forms, or that in its judgment are harmful to the public order, violate standards of decency or are contrary to the goals of the contest
  • The photographer must hold all rights to the submitted image, including any retouching or other image processing
  • Entries are only accepted through the the above mentioned platforms. The images must be NOT be shared through private message or mail with SIGMA
  • SIGMA will not pay all costs incurred by the photographer by entering the contest
  • Entering the contest constitutes agreement to the terms and conditions stated in these Entry Guidelines
  • SIGMA reserves the right to modify / withdraw the contest at any point
  • SIGMA reserves the right of final judgment regarding terms not expressly stated in these Entry Guidelines. Contestants who do not consent to the organizer’s decisions may withdraw from the contest. All costs associated with withdrawal from the contest are to be borne by the contestant
  • SIGMA reserves the right to change the duration and terms of the contest
  • The decision of the judges is final and binding. SIGMA will not entertain any disputes regarding the same
  • SIGMA reserves the right to use the entries on its public social media platforms. This does not guarantee an award of any kind
  • SIGMA will display the names of the winners and the images, in part or as a whole on related websites and social networking accounts with due credit to the photographer
  • The photographer has to provide proof of citizenship, contact information and other relevant information once the potential winners have been shortlisted. Failure to provide the same will result in disqualification
  • In the event that a winner is found to be disqualified after a prize is awarded, the award may be revoked and the entrant requested to return the prize
