TOP 5 Reasons to Buy SIGMA 50mm F1.4 | A
The build quality of the lens is superb. It feels very solid!
Sigma’s Art lenses have an excellent, classy, high-end look and feel and the 50 Art is no different. From the classy mix of matte and gloss black finish to the great-feeling sharply ribbed rubber rings to the smooth overall dimensions, these lenses have very impressive design qualities.
There is really nothing to complain about in terms of the lens build except one area – weather sealing. While the lens itself probably can take plenty of abuse, the lens mount is not sealed with a rubber gasket like on the new Nikon lenses.

Sigma 50mm ART beats Nikon 50mm f1.8G in almost every aspect (Image quality, contrast, color rendition and build quality) except focusing speed. Nikon 50mm f1.8 is a little quicker than SIGMA 50mm ART
6. Ghosting and Flare
When it comes to handling high-contrast situations with a bright source behind the subject, the Sigma 50mm f/1.4 Art seems to yield quite pleasing results, keeping the contrast levels high and introducing very little ghosting and flare into images. Here is a sample image taken against the sun:
7. Summary and conclusion
Sigma has really stepped up their game by launching this great lens at a killer price. I would highly recommend this lens for anyone who loves 50mm focal length.
